"Jewish" Family Constellations in Sweden
The collective sphere is experienced incredibly strongly and explicitly for Jews in general. For the small Jewish Diaspora in Sweden it is even more so. We are excited to see what will happen in a room where -- in different ways -- all group members carry the Jewish experience. How will this influence the work? Will we be able to go deeper and further in the Constellations? Will being in a Jewish oriented group - instead of being in the minority - enable us to speak out and work freely with issues that deal with our Jewishness?
In Constellation work, we hold and bear each other’s stories. A field is created with an intuitive, but very clear knowledge of the people we call into the room, i.e. persons represented by us in the Constellation. This "knowing field" is partly beyond the specifically personal and therapeutic. We move in a collective field of knowledge. We touch memories and consciousness of ourselves, of others, of entire groups.
We offer a weekend for Swedish Jews - with the support and participation of others: spouses, Jews from other countries, and those with partial or buried Jewish lineage - to investigate and share our collective experiences and memories. Instead of speaking, explaining and discussing, we offer a new language and a new type of meeting, a shared and maybe healing experience. For the many of us who have therapeutic and workshop experiences of different kinds, it will be rewarding and exciting to for once work deeply and seriously with and for our own group.
Dr. Cohen will present at the Towards a Science of Consciousness Conference at Stockholm University on Wednesday, May 4th.
Family Constellations in Norway
Dr. Dan Booth Cohen returns to the Hellinger Institute of Norway to teach and demonstrate his unique approach to Family Constellations. Since his last visit in 2009, he has continued to deepen and refine his way of discerning the meaning of suffering and illness. By keeping an open heart and clear intention, he helps creates powerful Constellation spaces. His acute intuition and imagination supports clients to perceive, understand, and accept the meaning of their most difficult emotions and symptoms. Very often, the issue presented for a Constellation gets much better or resolves completely.
Family Constellations help find the answer to the question: "Who did this belong to before it was mine?" When the answer is revealed, great burdens are lifted.
About the Seminar Leader
Dr. Dan Booth Cohen will lead the Constellations. He is the first American to be certified as a facilitator and trainer by the German Association for Systemic Constellations (DGfS). Dr. Cohen is a Jewish American psychologist who
has long been active in efforts for peace inside the triangle that connects Jews, Germans, and Arabs.
His father, Henry Cohen, fought in Germany during the Second World War as a U.S. army soldier. In 1946, he was Director of a UN camp for Jewish Holocaust survivors in southern Germany. Many residents of the camp later became the first soldiers in the Israeli Army.
After studying the history of sciences and obtaining an MBA, he served as a strategic planning consultant to the Director of the Los Alamos Nuclear Weapons Laboratory. Shortly afterward, he became a founding member of the City of Cambridge (MA) Peace Commission and Director of the Children of War program in Boston. Dr. Cohen's Ph.D. in psychology is from Saybrook University in San Francisco. He is the author of I Carry Your Heart in My Heart: Family Constellations in Prison (Carl Auer, 2009) and numerous scholarly articles and book chapters.
Using intelligence, heart, intuition, and humor, Dr. Dan Booth Cohen will help you find relief from the stress of being you. For virtually any serious issue, a Family Constellation can be the turning point where the burden is transformed for good.
